When I was a little boy, my grandmother made me pray. Since I was very young and couldn’t yet learn long prayers, she taught me:
“Guardian angel, my dear guide, watch over my soul day and night…”
I don’t remember the rest of it. Back then, it seemed almost silly to me. I didn’t want to pray. But as the years passed and I gained more life experience, I came to understand that I must surely have a guardian angel close by.
This realization came to me again recently. On a trip for work, a loose wheel from a truck flew past me. It narrowly missed my car and ended up several meters away, off the road. I don’t presume that a guardian angel physically redirected the wheel, but the fact remains that, for some reason, I went back into the house shortly before leaving on that journey. And to be honest, I can’t even recall why I went back.
Whether we call it intuition, coincidence, or divine protection, moments like these make us realize that perhaps we are not entirely alone in this world.
Who Are Guardian Angels?
Each of us has a guardian angel who accompanies us through life. Even if we cannot see them, we can feel their presence – in moments of calm during dangerous situations, in times when we suddenly know what to do, or when we narrowly avoid complications that seem purely coincidental.
Guardian angels are not only present in moments of crisis. They also act as a quiet voice of intuition, guiding us in the right direction. We can become aware of their presence if we tune into the subtle signals they send us.
How to Connect with Your Angel?
Angels are always here, ready to help, but we often overlook their presence. Connecting with your guardian angel is easier than many think. It only requires opening your mind and heart because angels respect our free will and never intervene unless we ask them to.
- Prayer and Meditation: A short prayer or a moment of quiet reflection are simple ways to invite your angel into your life.
- Intuition and Signs: Learn to listen to your intuition and pay attention to signs – such as a sudden thought that comes to mind or synchronicities in your surroundings.
- Invitation Ritual: If you feel the need, create your own ritual. It doesn’t have to be complicated – a candle, a moment of calm, and a sincere request for guidance and protection are enough.
Practical Advice:
Guardian angels remind us that even the hardest times can be opportunities for growth. When facing a difficult situation, try pausing for a moment, taking a deep breath, and asking for help. The answer may come in the form of a calm mind, a clear decision, or something unexpected – something we often liken to a miracle.
Luck, or Something More?
When I share my experiences, I often hear, “You’re so lucky.” Or, “You had good fortune again.” Situations like the one with the loose truck wheel may seem like mere luck, but I believe there’s more to it.
This leads to the inevitable question: What about those who don’t have such luck? What about those who were struck by a similar wheel or faced other tragedies? Where were their guardian angels?
I could start talking about karma, destiny, and so on, but I’ll admit – I simply don’t know the answer to this question. And so I won’t make one up. Perhaps angels are not here to prevent every tragedy. Maybe their role isn’t to shield us from all harm but to help us manage the situations we face in life and find meaning in them.
What if Angelic Protection Isn’t Always Visible?
Sometimes, their presence might involve giving us the strength to face challenges. At other times, they help us find a way out of difficult situations that seemed hopeless. And sometimes, their assistance is silent and invisible – we may not even realize they guided us until we look back.
Luck, Destiny, and the Presence of Angels
Many people see life events as a matter of luck or misfortune. But what if it’s not just luck? And what about those who didn’t have such luck? Each of us has probably asked the question: Where were the guardian angels when tragedy struck?
Angels are not miraculous creators of trouble-free lives. Their role may be more about helping us navigate the challenges we face. Tragedies and difficult situations aren’t necessarily a sign of their absence but perhaps part of a larger plan that helps us grow, learn, and seek deeper meaning.
- Sometimes They Protect Us: There are moments when, at a critical juncture, an unseen intervention alters the course of events – such as narrowly avoiding an accident without knowing why.
- Sometimes They Guide Us: Even in difficult times, angels can provide guidance that steers us in the right direction. This help may not be immediate or obvious, but in hindsight, we often recognize it.
- And Sometimes They Let Us Learn: There are times when we must face challenges on our own to gain experiences that transform us.
The Perspective of Luck and Responsibility
What if the role of angels isn’t to always save us but to help us understand? To make us realize that even “misfortune” can lead us to the right answers or deeper understanding.
The presence of angels may teach us to be grateful – not just for protection but also for the ability to face what comes our way. Luck may not just be the result of chance but also our own attitude, openness to faith, and willingness to embrace what life brings.
Conclusion: A Presence That Guides Us
Whether you believe in angels or see them as symbols of intuition or inner strength, their presence accompanies us. They may not always intervene in the ways we’d like, but they are here – ready to help us grow, guide us toward courage, and support us in overcoming what lies ahead.
Every day, we can ask for their support. And every day, we can remind ourselves that luck is not just about circumstances but about how we perceive our lives and what we decide to create from them.
Take care, and may the angels continue to guide you every step of the way.
P.S. How do you imagine your angel?
